Edgewood Oak Brush Plains Preserve at Edgewood is an 813-acre property in the Pine Barren forest. There are more than 23.5 miles of trails and paved/unpaved roads.

“There are 4 routes, Old Commack Rd, Edgewood Oak Brush Plains PFAR, North of Airfield Rd., and Flyers Road, which bisect the property the center of the property that are universal access trails and allow motorized access for people with mobility impairments.” A permit is required through DEC.
Edgewood Blue Hiking Trail 2.7-mile loop “easy walk through the pine barren forest.” Hiking is also allowed on all the area’s paved and unpaved roads.

Wilson Hill WMA is an “open water wetland adjacent to the St. Lawrence River consisting of several large open water pools of approximately 1,800 acres bordered by cattail, shrub swamp, forest, and meadows. … It is not uncommon to find 15 to 20 different species of waterfowl on the area during the spring and fall migrations.”

Lampson Falls Trail is a partially “…accessible trail which extends 0.5 miles from the trailhead to a scenic overlook of one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the Adirondacks with a vertical drop of approximately 100 feet. Most of the trail has a 5% grade or less. However, users should be prepared for steeper grades of up to 10% to reach the overlook. Level resting areas are provided at close intervals.”

Salmon River Falls trail 1,100-foot “The tree-shaded hardened-surface trail runs along the northern edge of a deep gorge, with the Salmon River below. There are handrails at the overlook and a guardrail along the edge of the trail.

Designated roadways are accessible by car for people with disabilities who have obtained a permit from DEC.

Sand Pond Accessible Trail 800′ trail leading from Main Haul Road to Sand Pond in the Pepperbox Wilderness. “It passes through a woodland setting, crossing two small wetland areas over an elevated wooden boardwalk as it winds along toward the lake shoreline. There is a lake view available at the end of the trail.”
